Welcome to Sustainable Capacity Solutions (SCS), where our mission is driven by a bold aspiration: to support and empower small environmental nonprofit organizations across Canada. Our vision for SCS is to see the environmental nonprofit sector equipped with the crucial tools and resources needed to overcome capacity constraints and foster community resilience.
SCS is a collective of five social enterprises, each committed to addressing the unique capacity-building needs of nonprofit organizations:
VISION
Our vision is to expand our influence by extending our support to environmental nonprofits throughout Canada. Diversity, equity, and inclusion form the foundation of our principles, and we are committed to ensuring the voices of various communities and populations are heard and their needs are addressed.
We also aspired to foster a collaborative knowledge exchange, sharing best practices and lessons learned in the global fight against climate change. Continuous evaluation and improvement were integral to our commitment to remaining at the forefront of capacity-building initiatives.
The Capacity Building Institute provides essential training and coaching for environmental leaders through expert courses and programs catered to various positions and responsibilities in the nonprofit sector. The goal is to equip them with the skills needed to lead their organizations effectively and make a lasting impact.
Eco- Internships provide essential human resources and staffing support. Through this program, young environmental enthusiasts are employed as interns with nonprofits to gain practical experience, and matched with a mentor to receive coaching and support. These opportunities provide growth, meaningful contribution, and the essential skills which ultimately supports interns in their personal career advancement.
